Life as a student entrepreneur has its advantages and disadvantages. Edna is a graduate of the Department of Mass Communication. Her journey started when she helped her sister advertise a clothing business called Paloma Empire. Particularly, which focused mainly on women’s needs such as clothes, bags, and heels, and catered to men. The business was successful, as total strangers took Edna’s word and entrusted her with their money. Edna also posted about the business on her social media platforms but didn’t take it seriously until her finals. Although, despite having a side hustle, it didn’t affect her studies. She was also teased about being a CEO.

Currently, her brand still exists, but she has now taken content creation more seriously and influenced online. Besides she plans on opening her business, but that’s a story for another day. Edna encourages others to start posting on their status about their hustles, even if it’s just for a small amount of money for data. Her elder sister had asked and advised her to join in selling female outfits, but she was hesitant at first. She didn’t want to join the crowded market of online vendors. Most sellers at that time were doing drop shipping or affiliate marketing.Â
Lessons from a Pandemic: Online Course on Customer Service
Subsequently, She advertised products that weren’t hers and added her gain to the normal price of the items. Edna’s sister learned how to import from China, which made the business less expensive than buying from Nigeria. She realized the influence she had when she asked everyone she knew to help repost on their status and any group chats. Moreover, the brand had a lot of active participation, and it was amazing. Overall, Edna’s experience as a student entrepreneur had its perks. Hence, the extra cash, clothes, footwear, and added fame. They were called Lady P sometimes and teased that her sister and she were “blown”.

Edna is more than ever consistent with creating different content and making more influence and friends online. During COVID, she took an online course on Customer Service Relationship, which helped her get some opportunities. Subsequently, over the years it improved her customer service for her brand.
