They now craft plans, get certified, and run things like pros. Arnold says, “We win together, not alone.”

What started as a way to sell onions fairly has turned into a full-blown community business.

Kalasag doesn’t just grow onions. It gives loans, pays dividends, and helps kids go to school.

Wency Learns the Business Behind the Dirt

Before Kalasag, Wencelito Gomez had one goal: find a buyer.
He sold onions for one peso per kilo. That’s barely enough to buy rice.

When the local government linked him to JGF, everything changed.
Wency got training, support, and a steady market.

He now leads, mentors, and inspires others. His favorite part?
“Partnerships make it work,” he says. “We can’t do this alone.”

Now, his voice reaches other cooperatives. And his story helps others believe in farming again.

Kalasag Shows What Teamwork Can Do

Today, Kalasag supplies half of Jollibee Group’s onion needs.
They’ve sold 13 million kilos of crops to brands like Chowking and Mang Inasal.

That’s not just good business. That’s real money, ₱703 million in sales.

The best part? These farmers now control their future.
They no longer wait for luck. They grow it.
