Otinga Ruth Ifunanya, an Entrepreneurial enthusiast, and a Mass Communication graduate from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. She kicked off on an intriguing journey. In her second year of college, she initiated a small business specializing in Cakes, Pastries, Small Chops, and Food. Her passion for baking cakes began after a memorable home-economics practical in Primary school. Every year, she’d bake herself a birthday cake. Her genesis stemmed during a matriculation ceremony. Her roommate knowing her baking prowess, enthusiastically promoted her services. Albeit securing clients whether she was prepared or not.

In her words, “you can never be fully ready, until you just start.” With this mantra in mind, she confronted her fears head-on. Afterwards, the business venture unfolded rapidly, without a formal plan in place.

Turning to her elder brother for assistance, they collaborated on a brand name and broadcast graphics. Thus, “NIASPLACE” was born. The name was a fusion of her own, “NIA” from “ifuNIA,” and “PLACE,” a fitting term for the diverse range of services she offered. Additionally, It wasn’t solely about cakes; she was also a Makeup Artist and purveyor of Thrifted wears.

The year 2019 marked the inception of her entrepreneurial journey. Subsequently, igniting a fervor for business ownership and a newfound sense of responsibility.

There were numerous occasions where profits eluded her, but she persevered, determined to stay hands-on. Despite encountering messy work, financial missteps, and hurdles, she had unwavering determination to press on.

Her growth has been strikingly apparent and notable. Her brand continues to evolve, with clear aspirations for an even brighter future.

Gratitude is extended to both divine providence and the not-so-small business venture. Moreover, she has not only met her financial obligations and built savings but also ventured into modest investments.
