MTN Webphone, in partnership with Webex, is bridging the gap for underserved communities within and outside Uganda. This cost-effective calling and collaboration app is revolutionizing communication. Nonetheless, multimedia collaboration for businesses, foreign students, communities, and the diaspora from Uganda.

The solution includes affordable local call rates from the app to home. Receivers can make and receive calls using a feature phone likewise other OTT solutions such as WhatsApp. This has a significant impact because the cost of phones, data, and inconsistent electricity hinders penetration and usage.

Most Kenyan citizens are employed in the informal sector. Indeed includes Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). These businesses have limited access to credit, which turn results in a lower rate of innovative technologies. Likewise, management practices that cater to their varied needs.

To tackle this, the Government introduced a Government to Citizen (G2C) credit and savings product called ‘Hustler Fund’. The team managed to swiftly implement this solution in just 6 weeks. Thanks to its architecture, there have been no downtimes since its launch processing over millions transactions. In its first days, the product made history by garnering 14 million customer sign-ups and disbursing 7 billion.

In six months, the product has provided over 40 billion to over 19 million citizens. Impressively, 7 million customers have returned as repeat borrowers, saving at least KES 1.6 billion. The significance of this accomplishment cannot be emphasized enough. It has enabled individuals and businesses at the grassroots level. Thereby, equipping them with the financial means essential for their advancement and prosperity.

Vodacom collaborated in creating virtual wheeling, an inventive solution to involve the private sector. Thereupon, addressing South Africa’s energy crisis sustainably. This solution leverages platform developed by Vodacom’s subsidiary, Mezzanine. It enables buyers synchronize consumption of various sites located across the country. Nevertheless, with power generation by one or more renewable independent power producers. These producers feed the power into the national grid.
