Call for Applications: FNF Afri GreenPitch Challenge 2026

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF), in partnership with Westerwelle Startup Haus Mombasa and GreenCape, has officially opened applications for the 2026 FNF Afri GreenPitch Challenge. This initiative expands its annual green economy competition into East and Southern Africa, sourcing economically viable solutions to pitch before investors at “shark tank-style” networking events in Nairobi and Cape Town.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the challenge, applicants must meet the following baseline criteria:

  • Eligible Sectors: Solutions must fall under circular economy and waste, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, sustainable mobility, water, or wastewater.
  • Business Phase: Enterprises must be in the pre-growth stage (registered, actively trading, and generating sales) and seeking funding or Series A financing.
  • Geographic Scope: Open to innovators operating in Botswana, eSwatini, Kenya, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, and Tanzania.

Awards and Benefits

Finalists and category winners will receive a package of financial and operational support valued at approximately $20,000, including:

  • A direct cash prize awarded to the overall winner.
  • A specialized, full-day investment strategy workshop hosted by RMB Ventures for all selected finalists.
  • Structured mentoring support and technical guidance.
  • Direct access to an expanded network of regional funders and venture capitalists.
