THE TALENTED GHETTO KIDS<\/h3>\n

A group of young dancers called The Ghetto Kids: Africa’s Pride, recently had the world mesmerized with their talent at the just concluded Britain\u2019s Got Talent (BGT) competition. They went viral across the world after they earned a \u2018golden buzzer\u2019 on the international TV show. This action which automatically sends a contestant straight to the show\u2019s final live rounds. It had never been pressed in the middle of a performance before. This feat earned them instant fame on world stage.<\/p>\n

The Ghetto Kids are part of a family of 30 plus children taken in by Kavuma Dauda. His foundation offers shelter, food and education to children from the streets of Kampala. which has been happening since 2007. TGK is an NGO with a mission of using music, dance and drama to help disadvantaged, street and orphaned children. It was registered as a non-governmental organization in 2013. Following the dance troupe\u2019s unexpected success with the homemade dance video to Sitya Loss by Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo. The foundation uses music<\/a>, dance and drama to help children access a better life.<\/p>\n

According to Kaguma, \u201cWhen you dance, you forget that you didn\u2019t eat. When you dance, you forget that you have lost someone\u201d.<\/p>\n

GHETTO KIDS SOLIDIFYING AFRICA’S PRIDE<\/h3>\n

The group’s transformative project, using music and dance to uplift the lives of street children, garnered global acclaim following their breakthrough.<\/p>\n

Their triumphant performance in the semi-finals of the BGT talent show secured their position as one of the 10 finalists. This historic feat marked them as the first group ever to receive the Golden Buzzer mid-performance in the history of the ITV network broadcast.<\/p>\n

After their sensational victory, the children returned home to a grand welcome, with Ugandans turning out in masses to greet their newest heroes.<\/p>\n

GHETTO KIDS founder expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support during the competition. He described the experience of interacting with so many people as a dream come true. The judges’ appreciation of their ‘organic’ dance was particularly significant.<\/p>\n

Leading choreographers took notice of GHETTO KIDS and collaborated with them. Since 2015, they’ve amassed numerous internationa<\/a>l dance awards, including an Afrimma Award, a Recording Industry Association of America award, and a YouTube Creators Award. Additionally, they graced the stage at the 2022 men’s football World Cup, meeting football stars like Neymar and Aguero.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
