Gozie Udemezue <\/a>Empowering Widows and Transforming Lives. G\u1ecdzie is an Attorney, Niche Coach, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, Human Rights Advocate, Writer, and Public Speaker. Although, she was born on May 3, 1971, in Enugu, Nigeria. She earned her law degree from Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 1999. Furthermore, she bagged a Master\u2019s in Human Rights Law from the University of London in 2015. In 2003, she also completed a Certificate in International Human Rights from the International Institute for Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.<\/p>\n

Gozie Udemezue Empowering Widows and Transforming Lives Worldwide<\/h3>\n

In May 2008, G\u1ecdzie co-founded the Healing Hearts Widows Support Foundation Inc. (HHWSF) with her late husband, Chief Emeka Udemezue. Significantly, she leads a dedicated team to provide financial support, mentorship, and hope to widows and their children. Moreover, she has got funding from the U.S. Consulate\u2019s Public Affairs Section, and Mama Cash (Netherlands). Even more Virginia Gildersleeve International Funds (New York). This has particularly enabled the foundation to simplify and distribute widowhood laws in Enugu and Anambra States. Specifically, translating them into Igbo, pidgin English, and simplified English for wider access across Nigeria’s eastern states.<\/p>\n

G\u1ecdzie serves on the boards of two international nonprofits in Chicago, Illinois, and Kampala, and Uganda. Additionally, she volunteers as an administrator for Hope Restoration Ministry in New York. Similarly, in July 2016, the U.S. House of Representatives honoured her for her work supporting widows. Additionally, she received the Danny Glover Award in 2018 for grassroots contributions. Subsequently, she has been featured on BBC Igbo and BBC World Service Focus on Africa, discussing her work and books.<\/p>\n

Inspiring Change Through Education, Writing, and Global Partnerships<\/h3>\n

Comparatively, she has published two books, Miracle on the Hudson<\/em> (2013) and Widowhood Redefined<\/em> (2019), and is writing a third. Her articles appear in works by Ajayi Crowther University and the University of Ibadan’s Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies. As a public speaker, she has shared her insights on global platforms, including the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. Coupled with the United Nations sessions in Geneva and New York.<\/p>\n

Additionally, she’s an alumna of the U.S. Department of State\u2019s IVLP and a fellow of the Africa Leadership Institute of West Africa (ALIWA. G\u1ecdzie currently leads Widowed Not Withered<\/em>, a pan-African mission empowering widows to thrive. Finally, this slogan has become her rallying hashtag, used by widows worldwide.
