Against the Wind: Tiana Michaels, follows her inspiring journey, from navigating academia to building businesses. A tale of resilience, entrepreneurship<\/a>, and success against all odds.\u00a0<\/p>

Tiana is a recent graduate from the Department of English and Literary Studies at the University of Nigeria Nsukka. She embarked on her academic journey in 2018. Besides, not securing her dream course, she eagerly anticipated the opportunity to venture into an entirely new world. Albeit Independent of familiar faces.<\/p>

Initially, her focus was on studying, passing exams, and ultimately graduating with distinction. Tiana being undeniably intelligent, had already gained valuable work experience at a young age of 16. This which consequently, shaped her into a determined and resourceful individual.<\/p>

In her first year, Tiana joined an ushering team, which marked the beginning of her journey into the world of events. Her first job with Cowbell and Onga ignited a passion for event hosting. Over time, she established connections with prominent figures in the University’s showbiz scene. Further, leading to numerous committee memberships for various events. This exposure prompted her to delve into event planning. A field driven by passion and the desire to build a professional portfolio.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2021, Tiana aspired to start a business, but capital constraints compelled her to seek an endeavor with minimal startup costs. A fellow student introduced her to the bedding business, offering wholesale prices. This venture proved successful, with Tiana making significant sales from the onset. However, logistical challenges arose due to distant suppliers. Consequently, leading her to find a local relative with a warehouse for more efficient and cost-effective sourcing. Despite facing difficulties, particularly with demanding customers, Tiana persevered. Nonetheless, maintaining the business alongside her studies.<\/p>

Yearning for a more substantial income stream, Tiana established her own ushering team. HOSTESS_99, in October 2021. Despite receiving a large number of applications, she carefully selected a team of 40 models. While she initially enjoyed success, she encountered challenges. Primarily, in the local market’s undervaluation of ushers. This led to lost opportunities and a need to be selective about the projects she undertook.<\/p>

On August 2022, Tiana launched her skirt brand, THE SKIRT VILLAGE, fulfilling a long-standing dream. However, the venture faced challenges, with customer preferences diverging from her initial vision. Despite this setback, Tiana intends to revisit the business in the future.<\/p>

As a recent graduate, Tiana is exploring options, with an interest in interior decoration, a field she sees as having significant potential. She also contemplates formal education in event planning. While uncertain about her post-graduation path, Tiana is committed to taking the time to carefully consider her options.<\/p>

Notably, Tiana currently holds the title of the 6th Queen of Southeast Nigeria, an achievement she secured in July 2023. She is actively engaged in charitable initiatives <\/a>and has secured endorsement deals. Most importantly, embracing the responsibilities of her role with grace and dedication. With “TIANA MICHEALS” as her brand, she proudly identifies as an entrepreneur and lifelong hustler.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
