Ten Founded Companies that started by students? shocked right? Well you should know that three of the world class websites were all started by students? Yes, indeed. That is the power that student entrepreneurs have in the global arena. It might take you a while, but you need to be passionate and dedicated to what you are doing if indeed you dream of launching a successful start-up while still in school.<\/p>

This piece will look at the startups launched by students and dig into some of the challenges founders faced as they attempted to realize their dreams and the results they eventually got.<\/p>

1. Microsoft<\/h3>

Founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen at Harvard University in 1975, has evolved into a global technology powerhouse. Their initial venture, writing software for the Altair 8800 microcomputer, laid the foundation for the tech giant we know today.<\/p>

2. Facebook<\/h3>

This was launched by Mark Zuckerberg and his college roommates at Harvard University in 2004, quickly expanded from its origins among Harvard students to become a global social media powerhouse.<\/p>

3. Google<\/h3>

Initiated by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while studying at Stanford University in 1996, grew from a search engine project into the world’s most widely used search engine after its official founding in 1998.<\/p>

4. Dell Technologies<\/h3>

This was founded by Michael Dell in his University of Texas at Austin dorm room in 1984, revolutionized the tech industry with its direct sales model for custom-built PCs, ultimately becoming one of the world’s largest tech companies.<\/p>

5. Yahoo<\/h3>

Conceived by Stanford University graduate students Jerry Yang and David Filo in 1994, began as a website directory known as “Jerry and David’s Guide to the World Wide Web,” which later evolved into one of the internet’s pioneering companies.<\/p>

6. Napster<\/h3>

The brainchild of Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker, disrupted the music industry through peer-to-peer file sharing. Fanning initiated the company while attending Northeastern University in 1999.<\/p>

7. Reddit<\/h3>

Founded by University of Virginia students, Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian in 2005, has grown into a major social news aggregation platform, hosting discussions on a wide range of topics.<\/p>

8. Snapchat<\/h3>
