Most people would probably give up when they cannot find the clothes they want. That was not Ethan Eriksen. When he could not find the clothes he wanted, he decided to make them himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethan Eriksen is a sixteen-year-old junior at Barron High School in Wisconsin. He has been skiing since he was nine and knew what he wanted from a pair of ski pants. He wanted good quality, a practical design and, most importantly, flames. However, he could not find a pair that matched what he had in mind. Instead of settling for another option, Ethan saw a business opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A personal problem became a business idea for Ethan<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Ethan had already started his first business while he was still in primary school, so entrepreneurship was not completely new to him. Nevertheless, Shredrz Attire <\/a>started when he wanted a product that did not exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, he began working with clothing manufacturers overseas to create his own ski pants. It took several versions before he found a design he was happy with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result was Shredrz Attire, a brand focused on ski and winter recreation clothing that combines function with bold designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turning an idea into something real<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Building the product was only part of the journey. Ethan also had to learn how to present his business and convince other people that the idea had potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That opportunity came through the Junior Achievement of Wisconsin Young Entrepreneur Competition. Ethan was one of four finalists competing for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year title. He eventually won the competition and received a $5,000 prize. He also won the Viewer’s Choice Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His teacher, Ky Baumgard, had encouraged him to enter the competition. Baumgard later described his presentation as professional and polished while still showing his personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The support did not stop at school. Ethan also credits his mother, whom he describes as his biggest consultant, for helping him along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building a business without dropping the rest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ethan is still a student. He is also a multi-sport athlete<\/a> and a ski instructor. That means running a business is only one part of his life. To manage everything, he follows a school-first approach and relies on careful planning and time management. He also makes sure his other responsibilities do not get pushed aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His journey shows that a business idea does not always have to begin with a huge market problem. Sometimes, it starts with a simple question: \u201cWhy can’t I find this?\u201d That question can be worth paying attention to as a student entrepreneur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A personal frustration may reveal a need that other people have too. The important part is being willing to test the idea, improve it and keep going when the first version is not perfect.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
