Nissi Ogulu is not just Burna Boy’s sister\u2014she’s a mover and shaker in her own right. The creatives’ Lagos-born innovator is a singer<\/a>, visual artist, and engineer fusing art, technology, and innovation to create and empower a new generation of African creatives.<\/p>\n

She’s proof that you don’t have to sacrifice one passion<\/a>\u2014you can excel at several.<\/p>\n

The Musician with Soul and Substance<\/h3>\n

Nissi Ogulu started her music career in 2016 with the launch of her first single “Pay Attention.” She is a fusion of afrobeat, funk, and soul with empowering lyrics. Her 2021 EP, Ignite, unveiled her as a great singer-songwriter with deep lyrics and strong vocals.<\/p>\n

Not in the shadow of a world-famous sibling, Nissi has created her own niche in the music scene.<\/p>\n

Artist and Storyteller<\/h3>\n

Other than music, Nissi is a painter. Her artwork includes African identity, femininity, and culture in the form of bright colors and Afrocentric images. She has exhibited in a number of galleries and collaborated on several digital art projects.<\/p>\n

She often compares that her art allows her to express stories that cannot be spoken.<\/p>\n

Engineer at Bentley Motors<\/h3>\n

One of her finest achievements? Design engineering at UK’s Bentley Motors. She was part of the elite team that designed the Bentley Bentayga SUV, which made her one of the handful of black women to be included in a high-profile motor vehicle project.<\/p>\n

This proves her talent transcends creativity to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).<\/p>\n

Founder of Creele Studio<\/h3>\n

Nissi established Creele Studio in 2020 as a cross-disciplinary storytelling firm in animation, design, and technology. It aims to introduce African narratives to the digital creative landscape. Their very first animation production, The Satchel, gained global recognition for its quality and innovation.<\/p>\n

With Creele, she is building a creative link between the world and Africa.<\/p>\n

A New Face of African Creativity<\/h3>\n

Nissi Ogulu is the future face of African innovation\u2014one that proudly marries both technology and culture. She’s an inspiration to young Africans who aspire for more than one passion.
