The founder of Everyday Money has taken his fintech dreams from Nigeria to France, breaking barriers and redefining success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Rejection to Reinvention<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Like many ambitious <a href=\"https:\/\/thestudententrepreneur.org\/?p=10076\">entrepreneurs<\/a>, Retnan Daser had his sights set on scaling his business internationally. His first attempt? The UK Innovator Visa. But things didn\u2019t go as planned. His application was rejected, not because he lacked qualifications, but because it wasn\u2019t structured effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI had the right profile, but I didn\u2019t structure my application well,\u201d he shared at eMigr8\u2019s Open Day session. \u201cWith better guidance, the process could have been smoother.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of giving up, he pivoted. He explored the French Tech Visa (Talent Passport), a move that would change everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Retnan Daser\u2019s Startup Journey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Long before setting foot in France, Retnan Daser was already making waves in Nigeria\u2019s tech scene. He co-founded nHub, Northern Nigeria\u2019s first tech hub, and built Logical Address, a platform helping Nigerians create digital home addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His fintech innovations also powered government revenue systems, handling over \u20ac2 million in vehicle administration transactions for Niger and Imo States. But he wanted more, something global. That\u2019s when he discovered the French Tech Visa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Power of Networking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The application process wasn\u2019t just about paperwork. Retnan Daser knew he needed to get into a recognized French incubator. Enter Schoolab, a government-approved incubator that gave him the backing he needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNetworking matters, introductions can open doors faster than cold applications,\u201d he explained. A single LinkedIn message led him to the right connection, and soon, he had the endorsement that would secure his visa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By May 2024, he had landed in France, joining Station F\u2014the world\u2019s largest startup campus, home to tech giants like Google, Facebook, and TikTok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lessons from Retnan Daser<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking back, he credits structured documentation, financial planning, and adaptability as key factors in his success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYour application needs to be solid to avoid unnecessary rejections,\u201d he advised. \u201cAnd don\u2019t underestimate financial planning, exchange rates can make or break your budget.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now fully immersed in France\u2019s tech ecosystem, he\u2019s focused on scaling Everyday Money globally and encourages other founders to embrace international opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re thinking about expanding abroad, don\u2019t give up.
