Honesty is a good place to start a business story and Eunice’s story is refreshingly honest.

Erinle Eunice Oluwatobiloba is a third-year student at the University of Lagos and the founder of Nailed by Cami, a nail technology business she describes as an extension of who she is: passionate and intentional. However, she admits that it did not start that way. It started because she needed money. University life was draining her pockets, and she needed a way to keep up. The passion came later somewhere between one client’s smile and the next set of nails she perfected.

Eunice Moving From Survival to Something Real

As she kept going, Eunice noticed there was a genuine shortage of nail technicians who actually cared about the quality of their work, client’s experience, and making someone feel genuinely good about how she looked. Most people were offering a service but Eunice wanted to offer confidence. That distinction is what turned a hustle into a business she takes seriously.

Showing Up for Both School and Business

Balancing lectures with client bookings has been her biggest challenge. Finding clients and creating consistent social media content add another layer of pressure. To manage these, she negotiates appointment times that do not clash with her classes, and since most of her clients are fellow students, they understand the constraints. Her friends have also played a key role by re-posting her work, suggesting content ideas, and helping her stay visible online. In addition, she markets the old-fashioned way through face-to-face marketing.

The result of this hard work is a turning point in her business: She had five clients in a single day. This milestone made her stop seeing limits and start seeing possibilities.

What the Journey Has Taught Her

Eunice’s lessons are simple but solid. Rome was not built in a day, and neither is a business. The version you start with will not be the version you end up with, and that is fine. What matters is that you keep investing time and effort, even when progress feels slow.

Her advice to students thinking about starting something is to count the cost before you begin. Ask yourself whether you can show up consistently. If the answer is yes, start and then keep showing up.
